Inheriting the Actros Design — Rugged and Powerful
This Mercedes-Benz Arocs all-terrain chassis makes its debut in the form of a fire truck, which aligns perfectly with its positioning as a versatile platform suitable for various special-purpose vehicle conversions.
The Arocs continues the bold design language of the latest Actros, embodying a robust character throughout. Not only does it retain the visual appeal, but it also offers excellent interior comfort and trim quality, providing users with a driving experience comparable to that of the Actros.

All-Terrain Chassis — A Master in Off-Roading and Customization
The Arocs offers the comfort and bold looks of the Actros, but its greatest highlight is its all-terrain, highly adaptable chassis. It supports a wider range of drivetrain configurations and is better suited for off-road use and custom modifications. A wide range of axle configurations and wheelbase options are available, and matrix-distributed pre-drilled mounting holes along the frame simplify the installation of superstructures.
The newly introduced Mercedes-Benz Arocs chassis offers higher ground clearance and improved frame flexibility, making it well-suited for off-road and rugged terrain. Unlike highway tractors, which focus on stability, off-road chassis emphasize frame flexibility. To meet these demands, the Arocs features a 744 mm internal frame width, accommodating 100 mm wide leaf springs and large off-road tires while maintaining structural flexibility.
Compared to its predecessor, the Arocs now uses higher-strength frame materials and a reinforced suspension system. Improved approach and departure angles, along with greater ground clearance for the front and rear axles, significantly enhance its load-bearing and off-road capabilities. The Arocs offers both narrow (744 mm) and wide (834 mm) frame versions — the narrow frame provides better torsional resistance with leaf spring suspension, while the wider frame offers greater dynamic stability with air suspension.
Mercedes-Benz Positions the Arocs as a Versatile Chassis Platform
As a rising star in the special-purpose vehicle industry, the Arocs offers 5 major advantages that make it especially modification-friendly:
- A wide range of high-performance engines to choose from, allowing optimal powertrains for various applications.
- Multiple standard wheelbase and rear overhang combinations to accommodate diverse superstructure layouts.
- Matrix-style pre-drilled holes on the longitudinal frame for easy mounting of attachments.
- Factory-installed Programmable Special Module (PSM) with convenient power and air supply interfaces.
- A wide selection of PTO options with optimized connection angles to suit various work scenarios.
Being a true multi-purpose chassis, the Arocs has a broad scope of application. Models equipped with rear-mounted PTOs are ideal for mixers, snowplows, and municipal cleaning vehicles. The more powerful full-power PTOs can support fire trucks, oilfield equipment, and concrete pump trucks, as well as dump trucks and cranes.

Tailored for the Special-Purpose Vehicle Industry
Unlike logistics trucks, special-purpose vehicles demand more comprehensive chassis performance. In addition to reliability, power, and comfort, they must also offer exceptional adaptability for custom modifications, making it easier for users in different industries to configure and integrate various superstructures with ease.
